Terms of Service

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Stydra (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users worldwide, including users based in the Republic of Korea, and comply with applicable laws including the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률) and relevant Korean consumer protection regulations.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes by email or via an in-app notice.

2. Description of Service

Stydra is an AI-powered study platform that allows users to:

  • Upload notes, PDFs, YouTube links, and images to generate study materials
  • Create and study flashcard packs with spaced repetition
  • Take AI-generated quizzes based on their content
  • Chat with an AI tutor for personalised explanations
  • Generate audio podcast summaries of their study content
  • Solve problems by submitting photos

The Service is powered by third-party AI models (Anthropic Claude). AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it for exams, professional decisions, or other high-stakes purposes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the Service and that they have read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you represent that all registration information you provide is truthful, accurate, and complete, and that you will maintain its accuracy.

4. Accounts

You must create an account to access the Service. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password secure and confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use at

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Fair use: “Unlimited” plans are subject to reasonable fair-use limits that protect the Service from automated or abusive use. These limits are set well above normal study activity, and ordinary use will not reach them. If you do hit one, you will see a clear message and the limit resets at the start of the next month — contact us if you genuinely need more.

Payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy. By subscribing, you agree to Lemon Squeezy’s terms of service. Stydra does not store your payment card information.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis starting from the date of purchase.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features until the period ends.

Refunds: We offer refunds within 7 days of initial purchase if you are not satisfied with the Service. To request a refund, contact us at . Refunds are not available for renewals after the initial billing period. Korean consumers may also have statutory cancellation rights under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days’ advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Free Plan Limits

Free plan users are subject to usage limits as described in Section 5. We reserve the right to adjust free plan limits at any time with reasonable notice. Attempting to circumvent limits (e.g., creating multiple accounts) is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models or proprietary systems
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Service
  • Use the Service for academic dishonesty in violation of your institution’s honour code — Stydra is a study aid, not a cheating tool
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these rules or is otherwise harmful.

8. Your Content

Ownership: You retain full ownership of any notes, files, images, and other content you upload to Stydra (“Your Content”).

Licence to us: By uploading Your Content, you grant Stydra a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process, store, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not sell or share your content with third parties for advertising purposes.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not infringe any third-party rights (including copyright) and does not violate any applicable laws.

Deletion: When you delete content or close your account, we will delete Your Content from our servers within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Stydra uses large language models to generate flashcards, quiz questions, explanations, podcast scripts, and tutoring responses. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information
  • AI output is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, etc.)
  • You should verify important information from primary sources before relying on it
  • Stydra is not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content

10. Intellectual Property

Stydra’s IP: All software, designs, logos, trademarks, and proprietary technology that are part of the Service are owned by Stydra or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Feedback: If you submit feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

  • Anthropic — AI model provider (claude.ai/legal)
  • Supabase — Database and authentication (supabase.com/terms)
  • Lemon Squeezy — Payment processing (lemonsqueezy.com/terms)
  • Vercel — Hosting infrastructure (vercel.com/legal/terms)
  • Supadata — YouTube transcript retrieval, used only when you import a video (supadata.ai/terms)
  • Resend — Sending study reminder emails, used only if you turn them on (resend.com/legal/terms-of-service)

Text-to-speech is not in this list on purpose: the podcast recap, the tutor’s spoken replies and the voice tutor all use the speech engine already built into your browser, so no audio and no text from those features leaves your device.

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STYDRA AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO STYDRA IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stydra and its founders, employees, and licensors from any claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

16. Termination

By you: You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by contacting us at .

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Sections 8 (Your Content — deletion provisions), 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 17 survive termination.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Korean consumers have rights under Korean consumer protection laws that these Terms do not override.

For users outside Korea, we will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally first. Contact us at and we will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remainder of the Terms remain in full force and effect.
